Fintel Library has adequate resources and services to support online classes. Online library collections including journals, monographs, and media are numerous with availability to the end user 24x7 via the internet. Off-campus access to electronic resources is possible using one’s RC credentials. Interlibrary loan is used to deliver journal articles and book chapters not held within Fintel's collections to the requestor. Users may place ILL requests for materials not available through Fintel Library. However, the ability to borrow physical items is subject to identifying libraries that are willing to loan materials. Librarians will work with faculty teaching online courses to identify appropriate electronic resources to mitigate the possibility of students needing physical resources.
For personalized reference assistance, small group instruction, and appointment-based research services, liaisons will employ a variety of tools to facilitate the "in-person" experience (e.g. interactive chat, SKYPE, ZOOM, and free screen sharing tools). Research appointments can be arranged at a mutually convenient time for both the student and the librarian. Interactive chat facilates drop-in reference assistance; attention will be given to the need to adjust based upon time zones served in the online environment.
