Chemistry: Chemistry Tutorials

1. Follow "from ON CAMPUS" steps 1-2
2. Enter your RC credentials when prompted
3. Follow "From ON CAMPUS steps 3-8.
4. IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTY using the above instructions, follow the Roanoke College Remote Computing  (RCRC) instructions below

RCRC ACCESS

1. Go to https://rcrc.roanoke.edu and log in with your MyRoanoke username and password.
2. Follow the instructions for your device to download the VM Horizon client OR, connect to VM  Horizon HTML Access
3. Go to any available lab shown and open Chrome
4. In Chrome, go to the Fintel Library website – https://www.roanoke.edu/library
   • Select the Databases tab and then select SciFinder-n (1st Time Registration)
   • Read & “Accept” the terms (if you don’t you cannot create an account)
   • Complete the form, entering all information requested
   • Use your CAMPUS email address
   • Click “Register”
   • You will receive a confirmation email
   • Once you receive the email, you are ready to use the link SciFinder-n (Existing Account) found on the Chemistry research guide or from the Explore Databases tab on the Fintel Library website. You won’t need to log in through RCRC after registering for SciFinder-n, but you will need your RC username and password and SciFinder-n credentials to access SciFinder-n from OFF CAMPUS.

From ON CAMPUS

1. Go to the Fintel Library website – https://www.roanoke.edu/library
2. Select the Databases tab and then select SciFinder-n (1st Time Registration)
3. Read & “Accept” the terms (if you don’t you cannot create an account)
4. Complete the form, entering all information requested
5. Use your CAMPUS email address
6. Click “Register”
7. You will receive a confirmation email
8. Once you receive the email, you are ready to use the link SciFinder-n (Existing Account) found on the Chemistry research guide or from the Explore Databases tab on the Fintel Library website.
