Includes LGBTQ History and Culture Since 1940, Part I -II and Sex and Sexuality, Sixteenth to Twentieth Century. "Illuminates the experiences not just of the LGBTQ community as a whole, but of individuals of different races, ethnicities, ages, religions, political orientations, and geographical locations that constitute this community.” Includes historical records of political and social organizations founded by LGBTQ individuals, publications by and for lesbians and gays, and extensive coverage of governmental responses to the AIDS crisis. Contains personal correspondence and interviews with numerous LGBTQ individuals, among others and 5,000 monographs that provide context to the twentieth-century materials covered in Parts I and II. Sources include the British Library’s Private Case Collection, Special Subject Units from Sex Research: Early Literature from Statistics to Erotica, a collection from the Alfred C. Kinsey Institute for Sex Research dating from 1700 to 1860, and a collection of rare and unique books from the New York Academy of Medicine.

This USF Libraries Oral History Project provides primary source material that emphasizes sexuality and gender identity-based cultures. The oral histories include first-hand experiences, everyday life, community, and common use terminologies.
William & Mary Stephens Project

Vassar LGBTQ Oral History Project
he Vassar LGBTQ Oral History Project was a partnership between the LGBTQ Center, the Women’s Studies Program, and the Vassar College Archives that began in the fall of 2012 under the Director at that time, Judy Jarvis. The goal of the project was to capture the experiences, stories, and reflections of LGBTQ and ally alumnae/i as well as former and current LGBTQA staff members.

The Archives of Lesbian Oral Testimony was founded in 2010. and contains online oral histories and testimony of same-sex and same-gender attracted women, inclusive of Two Spirit, queer, bisexual, and lesbian women, transmen, and others. The archives and the web site is supported by and operates out of Simon Fraser University Library's Special Collections and Rare Books.
