Language

The primary collecting language is English.  Foreign languages resources will be acquired in support of the language curriculum at Roanoke College.

Format

Formats acquired will facilitate use of resources for teaching, learning, and research across the widest possible body of Roanoke College constituents while paying attention to prudent use of fiscal resources.  Duplication of content across formats will be avoided.  Preferred formats for resources are as follows:

1. Audio-Visual – Streaming media preferred
2. Federal documents – Electronic preferred
3. Journals – Electronic preferred
4. Monographs – Electronic multiple user options preferred with; print will be preferred where required by faculty where the study of disciplinary content is improved.
