Fintel Library provides lockable study rooms for faculty research. Studies have ample work space and are equipped with a computer network connection and electrical outlets.
Library Grants support the purchase of books and non-print materials to increase library holdings for students' course-related research. Apply for either new or existing courses. Requests can include books, DVDs, and periodical back files. Do not request journals because they require a multi-year commitment of funds. Rely on Interlibrary Loan for non-repeating, specialized courses or independent studies. Librarians will review as a group the applications and make awards using the selection criteria below as a guideline.
Many of the Library's online resources are subscription materials. If you're off-campus and need to connect to these resources, click on the link that reads "off-campus" after each resource description. You will be prompted to authenticate yourself as a Roanoke College user (Full Name and RC Identification Number) in order to access this material. If you click on the link for the name of the database (Ex:Academic Search) you will be prompted to login to EBSCO, or the name of the database content provider. Your RC credentials will not work for that login screen. You must login with the Roanoke College server only.
If you encounter any problems, please contact Piper Cumbo or Dave Wiseman and we will be glad to help you.
